Charity Cute Kid Contest

I’ve recently joined up with a fantastic organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS).  NILMDTS is a non-profit organization that assists families who have suffered early infant loss by providing free professional photography services in order to preserve their childs legacy and loving memory.  Every year this organization runs a cute kid contest and this year I’ll be participating!  Last year the organizaion was able to raise $44,000 and we hope to raise more this year!  Here are the details:  https://www.charitymodelsearch.org

Dates:  The contest begins on January 1 (ok, so I’m a little late).  As a participating photographer, I will be scheduling these session through till March 15th.

The session:  The session will be $75 for 30 minutes of shooting.  Just the children elegable for the competition can participate in the session (birth-18 years old)

Entry:  One photo of each child may be submitted to the competition.  Once voting begins on March 23rd, we rally everyone we can to vote.  Each vote costs $1, you are not limited to how many votes you submit.  All the procedes to go NILMDTS to continue their wonderful mission.

Finalists will be announced March 25th

Judging begins on March 26th.  They will choose a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner which will be announced mid-April.  Stay tuned for prizes!

In addition to the regluar contest, you will also have the ability to view and purchase prints or digital files on my online proofing site.

Senior Beauty

I love encountering seniors who know who they are.  The confidence found in young adults who have direction is inspiring.  They are ready to take over the world!  And hopefully we will leave them with one worth taking.  I wish I had had some of that direction when I was that age.

The H Family {Millersville Infant Photographer}

Mr. Z was just about the sleepiest, cuddliest newborn I have met.  This little cutie was sound asleep the whole time, making my job super easy!  Not to mention the fact that Mom and Dad had a completely empty sunroom that became an in home studio.  It was perfect!  I even caught a little smile.  It was a great day to be an infant photographer.  Thanks Mom and Dad for inviting me into your home to meet your beautiful family.

The B Family {Catonsville Family Photographer}

One of the most wonderful things about being a photographer is capturing precious moments of the people you love and seeing the  joy in those moments.  One of my oldest friends approached me to take her family pictures and I couldn’t have been more thrilled.  She and I go way back to when we were only 6 years old!  To see where our lives have taken us and the families that we now have has been an amazing journey.  Through the craziness of the teenage years to transitioning into adulthood and finding ourselves, our friendship has grown.  And although busy schedules can take over occasionally it is always a comfort to have someone you know you can call on.  I can only hope that the B family enjoys their pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.  I often talk about the experience of having family pictures taken this way, instead of in a chain studio, and while I always enjoy meeting new families and getting to know new people, you just can’t beat spending an afternoon with your oldest friend and her beautiful family.
